I saw them once before this time last year, and they were okay. Crap support, and Shane sort of slurred his way through, not sure where he was. This time, it was probably the best gig I've been to.
Had to go up by myself because my mates are all fucking losers who'd rather go and see fucking Slipknot on the same night instead, the traitors, but whatever. Turned up and this DJ plays stuff like The Clash for a bit, and then the first support comes on. New band, "The Urban Voodoo Machine", bill themselves as "Bourbon soaked gypsy blues bop 'n' stroll", and they were brilliant. Sort of like Gogol Bordello, but while they lacked the insane energy Gogol Bordello bring, musically I think they were better. I'll definitely be checking their CD out when it comes out.
After that, more DJ, and then "Straight to Hell" by The Clash comes on, and the Pogues file out. Shane comes on last and the crowd goes fucking mental, and they go straight into "Streams of Whiskey".
Shane was much more with it than when I saw them in 2007, clearly a bit more sober than before, and the rest of the band didn't disappoint. Spider Stacy did all his stuff well, but the fact that the songs he sings aren't nearly as good as Shane's made it just felt like a break before the real stuff would start up again.
Highlights were "Body of an American", "The Sickbed of Cuchulainn", "Fiesta" and surprisingly "Fairytale of New York", because while the song itself isn't even nearly their best, the atmosphere was fantastic, which made it way better than it should have been.
So yeah, it was ace.

Missed about half of the Street Dogs set because my ticket had a misprint that said 6:30 instead of 5:30, which is a shame, because they were quality too, with the singer climbing up all the speakers and whatnot. The other support, Skindred, were shite though. "Reggae Metal" or some bollocks. More accurately described as "Black man screaming into microphone". They were crap.
Flogging Molly were absolutely amazing. Solid set, did everything I wanted to hear. Only complaint is that they chose to do an acoustic version of Black Friday Rule, with just Dave on stage playing by himself, and being joined by the rest of the band for the last verse or so. Just meant you didn't get any of the solos, is all.
Edit: Oh, and the T-Shirt I got was crap. It's all tight and fitted, I thought it was a girl's at first, but I've checked on the internet and it's not. Fruit of the Loom for life, not of this "Fanshirt" bollocks.

Straight in it was like "FUCK YEAH THIS IS THE BEST GIG EVER" but that was mostly because they played their best 5 or so songs straight off, leaving nowt for the rest of the gig, apart from Ruby Soho which they left for the end of the set, which means they had literally nothing for the encore. Tenderloin and something I've forgotten. Very anticlimatic.
Eh, decent gig. Flogging Molly tomorrow should be better.

WE'RE YOUR FRIENDS TO THE BITTER END.
Or the lack thereof.
Fuck me there's nowt coming out in the near future, is there? Band of Brothers on Blu-ray in November, but beyond that, there's nothing. Logan's Run finally got a region 2 release a few days ago that I need to pick up, I suppose, but that's still not enough to keep me going.
I mean what's to come out after Band of Brothers? Trainspotting is finally getting rereleased after being out of print for years, but that's not until the end of fucking March. There aren't even any Doctor Who serials announced, and there's always some of them announced. Battlefield and the E-Space Trilogy are confirmed to be coming out eventually, but no dates given yet.
Bah, I'll have to go get into Star Trek or something else with an oversized back catalogue.

Get blue screen errors every 30 minutes - 2 hours. Error codes suggest at least one of the RAM sticks I've got in is fucked, but I've never even tried to take apart a computer before, so taking them out myself isn't really an option.
WARRANTY HERE I COME.
Update:
Took RAM out and put it back in, to make sure it wasn't just loose. Still crashing. Going to try running with just one of the two sticks tomorrow, see if it crashes, then try running with just the other. If that still doesn't work, it's probably the wireless card.
Update:
lolfixed. It was crashing every time uTorrent tried to update the tracker on any torrent I had on, but when I've tried using different software, it's lasted all night without crashing. Sorted.
